Julian Pridgen AME Zion Candidate for Bishop 2024

Hi, my name is Julian Pridgen and I'm a candidate for the Workplace of Bishop in our precious Zion. I was born and raised in a place called Whiteville, North Carolina, a small southeastern farming community located in the coastal plains of the state. When it comes to church, my family members's roots are deeply planted in the St. Mark AME Zion Church, Whiteville, where the Pridgen name is engraved in the keystone of that framework today.

My love for Christ and the church is longstanding as I've served the church from a little child as an acolyte, usher, assistant superintendent of the church school, Christian education and learning, priest, and a lot more. After graduating high school, I signed up with the USA Marine Corps, where I continued to be until my retired life. And while in the Marine Corps, I accepted the call to teach and served Zion churches in the southwestern Delta Episcopal Area and eastern North Carolina.

Over the years, I've completely delighted in offering alongside the people of Zion as we've done the work of the Lord with each other. And I've been privileged to serve a number of modern and thriving members that stay terrific assets to their communities even today. Together, we paid off debts early, earlier than expected.

We've gotten acres of land to consist of a entire city block plus. And in each situation, we've taken part in community-related concerns that included matters of injustice and bigotry. As I've aided having a hard time individuals, we aided having a hard time individuals get on track and aided others keep their lives and even expand in their stroll with God.

On one occasion, I bear in mind opening the church doors as we got in touch with the neighborhood family court system, the department of social services, the women and young boys club. And in the annex of that church, experts and worried community participants used parenting classes to having a hard time moms and dads who had actually entered difficulty with the regulation. It was a attractive thing to see the church at the center of community working together to satisfy the community need.

I can state more regarding my own experiences to consist of getting a phone call from the USA White House as they were examining unethical political leaders in the community. And our neighborhood AME Zion church was suggested as a relied on valuable resource for that investigation. I might state more regarding my collaborate with Fight it out Divinity School and my organization with thriving in ministry or job funded by Fight it out and the Lilly Foundation.

I might also state more regarding my precious ecumenical connections, but I'm below today to state to you that I dream for our church as we move right into the future. It is my hope that we are consistently becoming a emotionally and literally wholesome church, knowing and standing for God as the adherents of Jesus Christ. I'm optimistic regarding the future of our church and believe that we can flourish through effective communication to consist of small team dialogues at every level of the church, constructive critique for the purposes of sharing and taking on ideal techniques that can help us a lot more, be a lot more effective adherents of Jesus Christ and guardians of Zion Methodism.

I'm really curious about seeking methods to provide more nurture to pastors and their households. And I am really knowledgeable about the vigor of an outstanding laity and neighborhood church as the laity and neighborhood church are the lifeblood to the Zion link. I'm married to the great, attractive, laborious, and task-oriented Deborah Register Pridgen, and we have two grown-up children, Julian and Christian, and Christian just recently honored us with Javante, our very first grandchild.

Finally, I believe emphatically that it is words of God that has been and will be the only thing that conserves and maintains the church. So pray for the church. Wish Zion.

Wish those of us on this trip. My name again, Julian Pridgen, prospect for bishop, as I get your confidence and vote. The tranquility of Christ be with you.
